Inspiration From Jim Carrey
“You can fail at what you don’t want, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love.” – Jim Carrey (yes the goofball comedian)
Refusing to drift is all about being deliberate about your future. I love Jim Carrey’s warning hear about playing it safe. He talks about how his father became and accountant rather than pursuing his passion because he didn’t think he could make it and felt he had to play it safe. This is what I mean when I talk about drifting.
Drifting is when we either stop paying attention and let the currents of our culture take us where they will, or when perhaps even when we are persuaded by fear and doubt to choose the easy way or the normal way.
The challenge that follows is often difficult as well. What do you really love? What do you really want to pursue? What do you think would be your greatest use of what you’ve been given?
